What it means for owners, tenants and investors
Del Amo's renovation shows how large regional malls have held their position by adding luxury tenants and dining and replacing older wings. A strong anchor mall supports surrounding retail and restaurant pads, and it reshaped competition with other South Bay centres such as the South Bay Galleria.
Del Amo's investment helped keep it among the South Bay's leading retail destinations.
What to watch
Further redevelopment of former department store space at the centre and any new mixed-use plans.
