What's happening

San Diego County approved the Otay Majestic Commerce Center, roughly 2.85 million square feet of Class A industrial space plus 145,000 square feet of flex office on a 253-acre site in East Otay Mesa, east of Brown Field. The project is planned in five phases.

The Sierra Club filed a CEQA challenge to the approval in August 2024.

  • Size: About 2.85M SF industrial plus 145,000 SF flex office on 253 acres
  • Location: East Otay Mesa, San Diego County
  • Status/Timing: Approved by San Diego County; planned in five phases

What it means for owners, tenants and investors

Otay Mesa is San Diego's main cross-border industrial market, serving manufacturers and logistics users tied to the Otay Mesa port of entry. A project of this size would add a large share of new Class A supply to the submarket over several phases.

A five-phase, 2.85 million square foot project would add major new Class A supply near the border.
